Enter a Challenge and Read the Goal Bar
Keep splitting and selling until the CHALLENGE entry becomes available, then open it. The Sage introduces THE 3 GOALS: each goal has a cash target and a limited number of SELL attempts. The third goal is a Boss round with an extra restriction.
Read the bar just above SPLIT and SELL:
- GOAL 1 OF 3, 2 OF 3 or 3 OF 3 identifies your stage in the set.
- The cash fraction shows earnings credited toward that goal and the amount required to clear it.
- TRIES shows how many SELL attempts remain. Each sale spends one try; splitting lets you prepare the batch before using it.
- On the third goal, the BOSS line names the active restriction.
For example, a bar showing $48 / $100 and 3 TRIES means you still need $52 across up to three more sales. Use this goal progress when planning your next batch, rather than your wallet balance.
Failing a goal does not make you lose anything. You can attempt the challenge without treating failure as a loss of your existing resources.
Choose difficulty in the Challenge panel; Normal is one displayed setting. The message that the next set will be harder describes progression between sets, not an automatic switch to another difficulty setting.
Build a Batch Before Spending a Try
Treat each SELL as a limited opportunity to move the goal bar. A small sale uses an attempt just as a larger sale does, so preparing the batch is especially valuable in challenges.
- Read the target, credited cash and remaining TRIES. Check the Boss line too if you are on the third goal.
- Use SPLIT to build your batch. Wait for its cooldown to finish before splitting again.
- Use SELL when the batch is ready. Aim to make meaningful progress toward the remaining cash requirement.
- Read the updated goal bar. If the goal is still active, use its new progress and remaining attempts to plan the next batch.
Complete a goal with one sale
The Silver One and Done achievement requires completing a challenge goal with a single SELL. Build up the batch before your first sale of that goal. A $349 sale can clear a $270 target in one attempt, leaving three of the original four tries unused.
For ways to improve the earnings of the batch you prepare, see the Mitosis money guide.
Calculate Your Remaining Sales Budget
Use the calculator while a goal is active to find out how much cash your remaining sales need to contribute on average.
Enter the full goal target, the cash already credited on the goal bar, and the remaining TRIES. Use at least one remaining attempt, and enter all cash amounts in the same units—for example, $100K is 100,000 cash.
With a $100 target, $48 credited and three tries left, you need $52 more, averaging approximately $17.33 per remaining sale. The combined sales must still cover the full $52; individual sales do not have to be equal. If one sale contributes less, the later sales need to make up the difference.
Update the inputs after each sale. Under the half-paying Boss restriction, use the cash actually credited to the goal. The result is a budget for reaching the target, not a prediction of your next batch's value or your CASH OUT reward.
Calculate the remaining challenge target and average credited cash needed per remaining SELL attempt.
Remaining cash = max(target cash − credited cash, 0). Average cash needed per remaining sale = remaining cash ÷ remaining SELL attempts.
- Each SELL consumes one attempt and adds its credited earnings to the current goal.
- Enter the remaining attempts shown on the goal bar, including any Boss restriction.
- Credited cash is the amount counted toward the goal after applicable restrictions.
- The result is a target budget, not a prediction of the next sale or CASH OUT reward.
Handle One Try Fewer
BOSS: ONE TRY FEWER removes one SELL attempt from the round. This gives you less room for a sale that contributes very little, so prepare a fuller batch before committing an attempt.
Use the remaining TRIES shown on the bar when calculating your budget; the restriction is already reflected there. After selling, reassess the cash still needed before preparing another batch. With only one try left, your next sale must cover the entire remaining gap.
The practical priority is stronger individual sales. Waiting through additional splits can be worthwhile when it lets you make better use of the attempts you have left.
Handle Slower Splits and Half-Paying Balls
These restrictions affect different parts of your preparation. Read the Boss line before deciding whether the next batch is ready.
Splits Take Twice as Long
This restriction doubles split duration. Wait for the full cooldown, then continue splitting to build the batch. A longer wait is not a reason to spend a SELL attempt early: you still need enough credited earnings to clear the goal within the available tries.
Only Half of Your Balls Pay
Only half your balls contribute payment under this restriction. Build up your batch and judge each sale by the actual increase on the goal bar. A large ball count alone does not tell you how much cash will count toward the target.
An active Rainbow event provides ×1.5 SELL and can help you clear this Boss. Prepare a useful batch and aim to sell while the boost is still active. Watch its countdown so that extra splitting does not cost you the boosted sale window.
See weather events and their timers for the other event effects and how to track when they end.
Read CASH OUT and Finish the Set
Clearing a goal brings up CASH OUT. Read its amount separately from the goal bar: the target is the earnings requirement you must meet, while CASH OUT displays the settlement amount. A longer-split Boss clear with a $245K target can show $207K CASH OUT; the target itself is not a promised payout.
Challenge rewards can include cash, Tokens and new cards. For example, the $270 goal cleared by a $349 sale awarded 6 Tokens and an Overgrowth card. Those were rewards for that challenge clear, not fixed rewards for every second goal or for the One and Done achievement.
Complete the third goal to beat the Boss and finish the set. SET BEATEN! confirms completion, and the Card Shop becomes available. Beating a Boss round also fulfills the Gold Boss Buster achievement requirement.
Choose your next step based on what you need:
- Use the card management guide to buy with Tokens, inspect offers and arrange your cards.
- Check the Token spending guide before committing your rewards to cards or rerolls.
- Browse achievement requirements for other goals to pursue alongside challenges.
