Roblox Mitosis Mutation Luck: Eclipse, Lava Rain and Mutagen

Last updated:

Match your mutation boost to the ball you want. Eclipse favors rare discoveries, Lava Rain favors Molten, and Mutagen or 2X Mutation Luck can increase mutation opportunities as you split.

Keep Splitting During the Right Event

Use Eclipse for rare-mutation farming and Lava Rain when your goal is Molten. Splitting creates opportunities to discover mutations, so put the active event window to work:

  1. Check the event name and its remaining countdown.
  2. Press SPLIT, wait for the cooldown, and split again while the relevant bonus is active.
  3. If you reach capacity, sell the batch to make room and continue splitting.

Lava Rain applies to everyone present. For either event, use the live countdown to decide how much time you have left; a weather announcement is your cue to start producing more balls.

Choose a Boost for Your Goal

Boost Mutation effect When to prioritize it
Eclipse ×1.5 mutations and ×6 rare mutations while active Hunting rare discoveries
Lava Rain ×1.75 mutations; most turn Molten while active Collecting Molten
Mutagen, shown as Shiny Uncommon Balls are 25% more likely to mutate Choosing a card for more mutation opportunities
2X Mutation Luck Mutations happen twice as often Choosing a paid pass for more frequent mutations

Eclipse is the stronger choice for a rare-mutation goal because it explicitly boosts rare outcomes. Lava Rain's ×1.75 mutation multiplier is higher than Eclipse's general ×1.5 multiplier, but its Molten tendency serves a different collection goal. The larger general multiplier alone does not make Lava Rain better for rare hunting.

Mutagen and 2X Mutation Luck target mutation frequency more broadly. Treat these as individual benefits rather than multiplying every number into a combined rare-mutation chance. None guarantees a particular discovery.

If you are deciding whether to spend Robux, compare the luck benefit with the other options in the game pass and bundle guide.

Get Mutagen Through the Card Shop

Complete a challenge set, including its third-goal Boss, to open the Card Shop. When Mutagen is offered:

  1. Select Mutagen to open its details.
  2. Check its form, effect, and Token price. A Shiny Uncommon offer costs 27 Tokens and gives 25% increased mutation likelihood.
  3. Compare the listed price with your Token balance.
  4. Choose BUY when you have enough Tokens for that offer.

That Shiny version also adds 15% money on every sale. This is a separate sale bonus, not another mutation-luck increase. Check the current offer rather than assuming every Mutagen card has the same form or price.

If Mutagen is already offered but you cannot afford it, save toward its price. Spending Tokens to change the offers does not solve a balance shortfall. See card shop and card management for rerolls, arranging cards, and other shop controls.

Track Discoveries as Bonuses Expire

Open COLLECTION, select MUTATIONS, and check your collection progress. Inspect YOUR BEST BALL to see its VALUE mutations, TRAITS, and overall PAYS multiplier. Use the mutation index to identify named mutations and the fusion combinations guide to interpret a ball with several effects.

When Eclipse ends, its temporary odds boost ends and mutation odds return to normal. Events can overlap and expire separately: Lava Rain can finish while Meteor Shower remains active. Follow the timer for the mutation event you are using, rather than assuming another active weather effect keeps its bonus running. The weather guide covers the other event effects and overlapping timers.

The 1/N labels above balls are probability-style labels. Do not use a label seen during boosted play as that mutation's unboosted base chance, or confuse it with the ball's sale value or PAYS multiplier.
